Becoming a Galactic Hero on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!

Obtaining a perfect score on an amusement park ride seems trivial in the grand scope of life, but this is bigger then that.  This attraction located in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney world offers you the opportunity to not just beat, but dominate your family and friends.  Winning is important despite what your T-Ball coach told you.  We here are Rope Drop Radio are ready to guide you through the steps of Galactic heroism. That flashing 999,999 will be yours by the end of this post!

Picking Your Seat

Here is a great tip.  It doesn’t really matter.  Some will say it is easier on the left or the right of the car.  If you are going to be the one controlling the steering then I would recommend you are shooting with your dominate hand.  The left and the right have more or less the same advantages to hitting the targets.  One of the big keys is once seated and your gun is activated start shooting to make sure you work on zeroing in your aim!

The First Room

The very first room you come to can make or break your hopes and dreams just a few seconds into the ride.  There is not just one but TWO 100,000 point targets.  The first target is located on the left hand side of the track.  It is on the palm of the left hand of a robot who’s arm is moving up and down.  Take a couple quick shots at that one then turn your attention to the right side of the path.

The second target is on the underneath side of the claw thing just before you exit the room.  It is hard to hit this one while in the room.  It is best shot at by turing backwards and shooting at it as you exit the room.  To be honest it may take a trip or two before you master getting a couple shots on both targets.  You are limited as to how long you can shoot at them since the car keeps moving.  I have come out of this room with the full 999,999 before and I have also come out with a big fat 0.

The Second Room

I call this the Volcano Room.  If you look beyond all the crazy aliens and weird targets right in front of you you see a Majestic peak of a volcano rising to a glorious peak.  We will call it Mt. Dole Whip.  The target you see just below the peak is worth a cool 25,000 points.  I know its not as exciting as the first targets I told you about, but this one is easy to hit a TON of times.  The biggest draw back of this target is when you ride with other people that know to aim for it.  With lots of people shooting at this one its hard to tell if you are the one hitting it or missing it.  The first few targets that is not as big of deal because only a few vehicles can hit them at one given time.  The volcano on the other hand lots of cars can be taking aim.

Last Chance Target

By this point you should be getting close to a max score, but there is still a great opportunity to get tons of points.  Near the end of the ride there is a room with Zurg on the right side of the track.  The target you want to hit in your big battle with the Evil Emperor himself is at the very bottom of his little rocket robot thing.  It is down very low so you can only hit it right as you come in and out of the room.  When you are directly in front of it you wont be able to angle your gun enough to get it.  Just remember you are in control of turing the car, you can turn and shoot back into the room as leaving!

Did You Make it to Galactic Hero?

By this point you are either on the mountain top staring down on all the completion or claiming your gun didn’t work.  The pure joy of this meaningful life achievement can never betaken away from you.  Once a Galactic Hero always a Galactic Hero.  Make sure to take a picture to prove your score and then after exciting the ride stop at the counter of the gift shop to claim your Trophy of all Trophies.  The amazing Galactic Hero sticker.  Pro tip:  Ask for a celebrating button to put the sticker on so you can then proudly were the button around the park like the champ that you are.

Final Thoughts

The max score of 999,999 is not a simple task and should not be taken lightly.  If you don’t succeed at first just keep trying!  If you rope drop Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin you can easily get 3-4 rides in without even stopping in the line.  Just get off and circle back for another ride.  The only time this won’t work so well is if Space Mountain is down.  I hope this road map to success helps you achieve all your dreams and goals in life.  Also if you do achieve Galactic Hero I hope you are sitting next to a better photographer then Doug.
